I’m extremely disappointed and feel completely deceived. Before starting therapy, I specifically asked the scheduler to check my copay because I cannot afford high-cost sessions. I was told my copay should be $0, and at most $30 since I have BCBS insurance. This reassured me and I proceeded with therapy, only to find out two months later—after my sessions had been processed—that I owe $860. Had I been told the truth or advised to confirm directly with my insurance, I absolutely would have. But I wasn’t. I trusted what I was told and now I’m stuck with unmanageable debt simply for seeking help. I’ve tried multiple times to speak with a manager to discuss the situation and the integrity of the service, but I’ve been ignored. Instead, the billing department is now threatening collections. I’ve requested a payment plan that I can actually afford, but they only offered one rigid option: 25% down and four monthly payments. That’s not feasible for me.
