I saw a NP at the practice briefly, and they were really kind and helpful. Dr. Sherin Parvez took over my case, telling me it was just too complicated. She really made me feel stigmatized as a person with several disorders that needed care. Whenever I would report how my symptoms were responding, if they were anything negative or neutral, she would sigh, fold her arms and ask "what I suggested then." I would explain that I have no idea, and this would run into a conversation about how I should just be positive. During one visit, she asked for some history, essentially saying why are you the way that you are, and I shared some very personal details from a history of severe childhood abuse. She gave me a short speech about how I needed to think about things positively and forget about all of that, or I would never get better. The exact way she said things was worse, and I left feeling suicidal, hopeless, and that I would never get well. She expressed I was on too strong of medications and too many. At the time, I was on two medications for depression and anxiety (not at their max dose). She said the goal was to remove me from medication. The front desk was curt, often rude. I found they had overcharged me a few times. We used the overcharges as credits on my account, but when I decided I had to leave for my mental health, I ended up having to file a complaint before they finally returned the remainder of my money to me. They would never respond to my calls or emails. I got my insurance company involved, and I eventually had to file a state complaint before they called me and eventually issued a refund check. I heard good things about Dr. Selah Parvez at the time. I have no idea why things were going go so wrong for me and why they were treating me poorly, but I would suggest you consider another psychiatrist or if you do decide to become a patient, be sure you report your interactions to your therapist so your mental health is not negatively affected if you experience anything similar. If you have a singular issue and also find a push to think positively to be helpful, this could be the place for you. I left in 2019, so I am sure things could have changed over time. I just came across my documentation from my report and no longer felt scared to post a review.

Dr. Parvez is very personable, warm, friendly and professional. He seems to genuinely care about how I am feeling. He gives me the time I need to express my needs. He was particularly helpful when I was grieving the loss of my Mom. I have been his patient for many years and I am grateful to have received exemplary mental health care. Thank you Dr. Parvez.
