I have been going to Raleigh Psychiatric Associates for over 20 years..My doctor (Jefferey Snow) is amazing!! Compassionate..brutally honest..and non stop in working with you to give you the care you need.. The place is clean..the assistants never offer less than the best to help you with appointments..and billing..and empathy..which is not their job. My care has been amazing..wouldn't change for nothing!

Potential Patients Beware I will start by clarifying that there are some good providers at RPA. Additionally, the office staff are wonderful - excellent communicators with patients' best interest at heart. Unfortunately I cannot say the same when it comes to Dr. Warren Pendergast. Warren's communication was often a point of contention - over several years I repeatedly had problems with timely prescription refills and dosing details. On multiple occasions the refill wasn't sent when I was told it would be or the quantity/dose needed correction. This left me feeling responsible for catching his errors rather than able to trust my provider, a common theme through my time in his care. The issues with refills were significant enough that it became commonplace for me to call my pharmacy in tears. Additionally, I believe that there were multiple instances where I was not fully informed about my range of treatment options or alternative treatment approaches. This includes an instance where I was prescribed a medication and titrated up to a "target dose" that I now understand to be 1.5 times the current recommended FDA maximum. I was completely unaware of this at the time and would have appreciated a discussion about dosing options at the time of the original prescription and/or revisiting dosing options if the FDA guidelines changed while I was his patient. Because of my unique medication circumstances, I remained under Warren's care far past when I was uncomfortable. Now that I have a new psychiatric care provider, I feel I am giving fully informed consent for the first time in years. I have learned more about my brain chemistry, my medications, my availabile treatment options, and the reasoning behind treatment decisions in 3 1/2 hours of appointments than I did in nearly a decade of care at RPA. This review reflects my personal opinions and experiences only. RPA is a well-established practice, but I urge caution when choosing your provider. I don't want anyone else to ever go through what I did.
