Public Safety & Mental Health Care Concerns I want to share my recent experience with Rabjohn Behavioral Institute because I believe the public deserves transparency when it comes to mental health treatment. In my experience, the care felt rushed, overly medication-focused, and lacking the thorough evaluation needed for accurate diagnosis. When clinics rely too heavily on prescribing medications without taking the time to fully understand the patient’s history, symptoms, and behavioral patterns, it puts patients and the people around them at risk. A proper diagnosis isn’t a luxury — it’s the foundation for safe and effective treatment. When that step is skipped or minimized: Serious conditions can go unrecognized Symptoms can worsen rather than improve Patients may not receive the support or interventions they actually need Families and peers may be left dealing with unpredictable or unsafe behaviors The patient may be blamed for “non-compliance” when the real issue is misdiagnosis or lack of diagnosis Mental health care should be thorough, responsible, and patient-centered. Every person deserves providers who look deeper than just medication management, who listen, who investigate, and who take the time to understand the whole picture. I’m sharing this because people deserve to know what to expect and to advocate for themselves if they feel unheard, rushed, or unsafe in their care. We need higher standards in mental health treatment — accurate diagnoses, individualized plans, and providers who see patients as people, not prescriptions.

I’ve been a patient here for about seven years and have made real progress by working with Dr. Rabjohn. He's a great listener—I never feel misunderstood or unheard. The office staff are awesome, too! They’re always so helpful and kind (and patient with me since I forget things often)!
