I am a psychiatrist in Chapel Hill and have been practicing "Psychiatric Psychotherapy" (psychotherapy where the therapist is also the psychiatric medication prescriber) since 1990. As I head towards retirement, I am no longer taking new patients. However, I am pleased to know that psychiatrists like Dr. Daley are continuing this practice. She is available to take on patients that I can no longer accommodate. I trust her implicitly, and you should too. Dr. Daley can prescribe medication and also provide therapy. Doesn't it make sense to get both from one person? You may not need both but isn't it a good idea to see someone for therapy knowing they have the holistic bio/psycho/social understanding of mental health that only a psychiatrist has?
