I was going to 4 different doctors all trying to treat different issues that they specialize in. After a year of continuing and worsening pain, fatigue and gut health issues, I was feeling hopeless. The doctors answers was, to increase all the medication doses I was taking. They diagnosed me with gout, arthritis and just continuing to prescribe medications to treat my gut health. I could feel none of it was helping and told my wife, don’t be surprised if I die suddenly. That’s how horrible I felt. My entire body was stiff and achy. The pain in my hands, feet and especially left ankle was unbearable at times. Even just sitting down doing nothing, the pain was relentless. So then I started doing research myself. I suspect that a couple rounds of antibiotics a few years ago caused my gut health issues. My problem was, I didn’t know how to fix it myself. I tried everything from doing internet research, but none of the methods I was doing helped. That’s when I came across functional medicine and naturopathic doctors. I found Dr Borkowski. She did a bunch of testing for food allergies and food sensitivities. I thought I ate fairly healthy before. Eggs everyday for breakfast and at least 3 large containers of Kirkland Greek yogurt. Dr Borkowski informs me after the testing I have a wheat allergy, and a high sensitivity to eggs and yogurt!! These were things I’ve been eating everyday for the past year!! So the Doc put me on a diet and we eliminated a lot of foods at first, especially stuff like artificial sweeteners that I was using and sugars. We slowly started introducing foods every week, then every few days. She also recommended I take supplements for my gut health and other vitamins and such to optimize my health. As I write this, I’m on Day 39 of this diet and supplementation plan. She laid out a plan of attack and I followed her instructions exactly as she said. By the second week I felt surprisingly better. I thought maybe it was a placebo effect, but after another week went by I was definitely feeling better already. I told her I couldn’t believe my symptoms were improving almost daily. For the first time in about 5 months, I can feel the pain dissipate in my ankle. I foolishly did a short sprint and felt it for a few days after, but just a few months earlier, I could barely walk up and down stairs let alone sprint. Now at Day 39 I feel stronger and better than I have in a long time. My gut health has greatly improved and I actually feel hungry all the time now, and I’m already eating a ton of food every day. 5 meals of 1 pound of protein, veggies and sweet potato’s a day, plus a couple protein smoothies. I eat 20 pounds of sweet potato a week and at least 15 lbs of animal protein, and I’m getting ripped and it’s actually hard to keep weight on. Before all of this I never felt hungry and had to force myself to eat. Then I would get the worst pain in my stomach and guts. It was horrible. On Day 39 I think it feels safe to say Dr Borkowski fixed me and I cannot thank her enough. I don’t write or leave many reviews, but this one is greatly warranted. I didn’t know Naperville Integrated Wellness has been at its location for some time now and close to where I live. I’m grateful she’s been able to fix me where traditional doctors have failed. Traditional doctors are trying to treat the symptoms you’re experiencing. Dr Borkowski is looking for the ROOT CAUSE of why you’re experiencing your symptoms or condition. In my case, it was fixing my gut health/leaky guy, arthritis and gout. If you’re experiencing any unusual gut issues or arthritic type pain, I highly recommend you see Dr Borkowski. If you’re the nice lady I was speaking with at Costco, and you described the pain and issues you’re having, please see Dr Borkowski. I have a very strong feeling she can help you just like she’s helped me!
