We are so grateful for our child’s therapist, Ann. She has such a kind and gentle way of working with our daughter and made my girl feel comfortable and safe from day one. She looks forward to her sessions and Miss. Ann smile. My baby girl has made tremendous progress since starting therapy.

UPDATED :Everything was great until I started noticing pressure into keeping appointments and or rescheduling them .My son never missed unless it was for something important and we always gave a week notice and or days notice.I called the office to see what their cancellation policy was or whats the reason for being so strict with us in these exact words the patient Coordinator said “If your son misses appointments the Clinic misses out on the pay and Therapists don’t get compensation for their time”. I put 2 and 2 together and it makes sense its all about the money . My son has Intellectual Developmental Disabilities and is in a wheelchair . As a single Mom and sole provider in our home even getting out the door is a challenge but we always made it. As he got older I started noticing how these Clinics treat these SPECIAL NEEDS PEOPLE like CASH COWS . He was legally declared disabled at birth he gets SSI and medicaid as live-in-caregivers thats why medicaid is in the home he is now 20years old we feel the STIGMA for having Medicaid . We always had Private insurance and medicaid due to my Job not offering insurance for the moment we only had Medicaid in the home . But Not being able to cancel freely without explaining myself and going in to details when we needed to cancel just because he has medicaid is Unethical . We called his case manager for advice and she told us there was no obligation and that we can stop services at anytime and that’s exactly what we did. We felt different treatment because he was on medicaid if you have FREE insurance they expect you to be there no matter what . You aren’t equal to self pay or private insurance Clients I suggest not taking a permanent schedule either or you will feel that same pressure insurance based discrimination is real also a $15 gift card was given to me when I had surgery I never used it and we are sending it back because I dont eat Panera and I dont want to feel like I owe anyone just because they gave it to me . The owner mentioned the card so Im sending it back you don’t give someone something then throw it in their face later however thank you for everything!!!!!! P.S. NOT EVERY CLIENT HAS THE SAME NEEDS NOR THE SAME CAPABILITIES and not everyone has support like you to even be able to open a business some of us are the only caregivers and we need breaks to take care of ourselves Im sure you guys have husbands to help you DO NOT EVER COMPARE YOUR OWN EXPERIENCES OF HAVING YOUR OWN CHILD BEING SPECIAL NEEDS TO OTHER PEOPLE BECAUSE SOME HAVE IT HARDER THAN OTHERS !!!!!! MY SON WAS THERE EVERY WEEK We missed 1 month last year due to surgery the Dr wouldn’t release me from hip surgery I was unable to drive and maybe 3 separate times this year and canceled accordingly to your Policy ! You guys just want to make sure you get benefit from all the 52 visits medicaid approved !!!!! I spoke with MEDICAID they also said we can stop . This year my son was in for 24 visits we were always on time and NEVER had no call no shows not to mention the times we were asked if we can go in sooner than our scheduled time last minute texts making us rush to Therapy I understand Therapy is important but sadly you guys seem to not understand people have a life outside of just Therapy every week and people should be able to cancel without having to give you a detailed explanation as to why they are canceling its none of your business . At the end of the day I’m the one doing all the hard work at home for my son I don’t care about how you guys feel anymore we did everything the RIGHTWAY but you guys made us feel very tied to the clinic like it was an obligation and we couldn’t have a say in my sons care Im glad we put a stop maybe show more leniency towards families that have loved ones with extraordinary needs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
