I put off writing this for about six months, but I'm still struggling from my experience here. I was seeking help with some trauma and EMDR therapy was recommended by the therapist. So I transferred to another therapist that specialized in this treatment and started seeing them for months. Then in the middle of unpacking every traumatic thing my insurance has an issue because their office filed the treatment under the original therapist. The new therapist is not covered, and now the office wants to collect over a thousand dollars from me for past visits. I also have to stop seeing the therapist I was in the middle of EMDR with because the insurance never covered them. The office finally, after getting the owner involved, realized I shouldn't have to pay over a grand for their mistake. So that got resolved, thankfully. Long story short, all the symptoms I went in for have been exacerbated, and now I'm struggling with an aversion to therapy. The actual therapists I worked with were lovely people, and I do recommend them though. Just do not trust the office, triple check everything they do. Appointments dates (I had issues with this too), and insurance paperwork especially!
