One thing we all know is the stigma surrounding therapy and discussing mental health in general. I personally have seen therapists in the past who made that stigma much more pronounced. In a society that doesn’t openly encourage seeking help when you need it, it can be extremely discouraging when you realize that despite your best efforts you just need help. That realization should never carry any shame at all. Dillon at Derby City Counseling has single-handedly destroyed that stigma by providing a safe environment that is overwhelmingly full of acceptance, support, encouragement, patience and laughter. Each therapy session feels like I’m catching up with an old friend on the trials and tribulations of life and that’s exactly how therapy should feel; comfortable. Dillon helped me through so many extremely challenging times in my life and continues to support me and provide me with an artillery of skills to love and understand myself better by being be more patient, kind, understanding, confident and unapologetically myself at all times.

I’ve been seeing Dillon for about 18 months and I highly recommend him. The tools Dillon has equipped me with haven’t only improved my sense of self, they’ve improved my parenting, my marriage and my overall quality of life.
