I give DBT Maryland my highest recommendation for individual, group and family DBT. All of the therapists, including Amanda, Kerstin, Elissa and Bobby are highly skilled and knowledgeable. While I have not used the services of DBT Maryland personally, I have known the owner, Amanda Pezzanite, since she was 15 years old and became my (then) 3 - 8 year old daughter’s frequent and best babysitter and later became a nanny for the daughter of a very good friend of the family. Even then, Amanda was a standout in terms of her genuine caring for children and their well-being and I have witnessed her grow from a responsible, dedicated college student into a young mental health professional and now into a very seasoned one. But the core characteristics remain the same: dedication, genuine caring about individuals in her care in whatever capacity, be they young or older. In fact, when my daughter hit a very rough patch in her adolescence, Amanda STILL showed deep concern for her and spent time with her, not in a therapeutic capacity, but in a personal one. She is a person of great integrity and character — a person who can absolutely be trusted with those you love most: your children.
