I’ve been a patient here since 08/2023, and it's been an experience like no other. Back then, I associated healthcare with a certain atmosphere: stress, burnout, and barely-repressed panic. CSP challenged that narrative the moment I first walked through their doors. Everything was so calm...it felt almost surreal, at least to someone as jaded as me. It was just peace, quiet, and a cozy little waiting room. I felt like I could exhale. Years later, CSP still feels a world apart from the rest of its industry, something I attribute wholly to its employees. They carry themselves like they *want* to be there, like they’re genuinely doing the work they love. Everyone, from the front desk staff to the technicians to the providers, is helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. This holds true across both the east and west clinics *and* every specialty/department that I’ve interacted with (I’ve done TMS, k℮tamin℮, and a unique sort of family-therapy-except-it’s-psychiatric-care). It took all of two weeks for the front desk staff and technicians to know me and my story…caught me totally off-guard the first few times they called me by name. The providers always go the extra mile: they let me talk when I want to talk (so, always), and they never phone it in or try to rush me out the door. Amanda, who handles k℮tamin℮ treatments, shares my exact sense of humor. Her presence really eases the anxiety that I have around...healthcare stuff of any kind, really. I'm practically a shut-in these days, but I always feel actively *excited* to go and work with her. Then, there's Dr. Kirmani-Moe, who managed to identify the esoteric neurodivergency that’s been ruining my life since the pandemic. Provided in-clinic accommodations and effective ℞'s for it, too. I tend to be a bit...*iconoclastic* in my approach to my own treatment, so most people just instinctively roll their eyes when I ask for anything but the most generic options available. Dr. K, however, engaged in a real dialogue with me, and she did so without ceding even an inch to my barrage of overzealous ideas. Instead, she tempered my impulsiveness with her own firm grasp on empirical reality. She sold me on an option that was backed by a solid body of evidence, yet also innovative enough to give me hope. That ℞ has been truly transformative; for the first time since 2018, I feel myself starting to crawl back out of the dark. CSP has undeniably given me top-class care from providers who operate on the cutting edge of progress. However, it was something far more simple that inspired me to write all this: When people at CSP mess up, they admit it—no getting defensive, no shifting blame to the patient, and no condescension. Instead, they make it right. They listen, learn, change, and grow. And if the same mistake *does* happen again, they *keep* trying, until a true solution is found. This isn’t something that I’ve encountered in the healthcare industry before. I guess the best word for it would be “justice”...the staff at CSP treat their patients *justly*. Take it from a girl who spent her entire early twenties tangled up in the Madison healthcare "scene": the best provider you can hope to find is one who’s in it for the long haul, one who’ll learn from you and with you, even in the toughest and most vulnerable moments. That's exactly the type of provider I’ve found at Collaborative Solutions in Psychiatry.

A friend of mine who happens to be a TMS tech got me connected with Collaborative. I have told my friend before that I’m forever grateful she gave me an “in.” I tell the staff I work with that I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. K and the staff. What Dr. K is doing for the world of psychiatry is revolutionary. I love Collaborative and the resources they provide, as someone who has struggled with mental health my whole life and not knowing what resources are out there. I’ve completed TMS, received my ADHD diagnosis, and currently do TRE with Ryan. Because of Collaborative Solutions in Psychiatry, my mental health has improved leading to an overall improvement in my well-being. I cannot thank them all enough for the care I have received.
