Carolina Attention Specialists

I brought my six year old to Carolina Attention Specialists for an ADHD evaluation recently and feel as though I should share my experience as a parent and a mental health professional. Pros: we got in in a little over a month from the initial phone call to our appointment. The intake staff and front desk staff were very helpful and accommodating throughout the process. They were transparent about billing and helped me verify my insurance coverage. The nurse who did the initial part of the evaluation and set up the QB test was personable and kind and helped my son feel comfortable. Cons: Dr. Thompson evaluated him and went over the results with us. While we were in her office, I felt she was rude and unprofessional with us. I wasn't expecting it to be super fun for him but she did little to engage my 6 year old in an age appropriate way. She refused to even answer his questions about the Legos in her office and spent the majority of the time asking me questions and telling him to wait or be quiet. It seems that most of the reviews are from adults so perhaps this office is just not a good fit for young children.

Great team here ! My doctor ( Amy Stevenson ) is great!! I feel at ease and since coming to her over a year ago, my life has changed for the better. Thank you Dr. A. You and your staff are amazing !!!
