I saw Opeyemi Ojo for my initial visit, and it was nothing I expected. I went in wanting to get an ADHD evaluation, and she was very dismissive. The first five minutes (this meeting was an hour) I explained to her my symptoms that DO affect my life, and she said that because I cannot remember having these symptoms as a child (I did- I just couldn’t pin point a specific age because obviously I am more self aware now as an adult that these issues affect my life), I probably don’t have ADHD and everyone thinks they have ADHD because “every single person in the world has these issues”. It was unprofessional and it truly made me feel like my issues were not valid. Every minute after, I just kept thinking to myself, why am I here? She gave off the vibe that I was silly for even coming in because she seemed to have already made up her mind that I did not have ADHD and the constant reiteration of, “every single person in the world has these issues”. Then, we go through the list of ADHD symptoms, what it is, and what it is NOT. The entire time, every single bullet point, she said, again, every person in the world has this issue, and would give an example of someone who does not have adhd and thinks they do- but it felt unfair because I felt like she was trying to fit me into a “one size fits all” with that specific example to say, you don’t have this- every single person in the world has these issues. I felt like she was deterring me away from this evaluation and already had her mind up in the first five minutes of meeting with me, and after I met with her, I felt like it was such a waste of time and it really left a bad taste in my mouth. I told her how I felt, and she told me she talks with all of her patients like this. I did not appreciate being spoken to like this, it was dismissive and not understanding whatsoever. I believe that there is a stigma in diagnosing ADHD in adults which makes me uncomfortable continuing to seek out a diagnosis because children can grow up with ADHD and not know because of our coping mechanisms. And once you’re an adult, and become aware of these symptoms that affect your life, it doesn’t matter because we didn’t know when we were kids? I saw another review that felt the same way about Dr. Ojo as I did. I wish I would have read the reviews sooner.

My experience with Blissful was wonderful, it’s pretty self explanatory and they even have a convenient texting system. Ojo is one of the best, and the kindest to go to if you need a second opinion on your diagnosis. They were extremely quick with getting back to me with appointments, scheduling, and the appointment was great. She certainly is knowledgeable professional and knows answers. 10/10
