I wouldn’t be the man I am today if it wasn’t for Dr. Frederick. If you want to spend a year feeling sorry for yourself, talking about how the world is out to get you and how all your problems are everyone else's fault.. he probably isn’t the counselor for you. If you want to be open and honest, accept some responsibility for your part and put the work into making lasting change.. call him immediately.

I debated writing this review until I came across his practice again and realized I wished I’d expressed my concern before. I met with Dr. Frederick as a freshman in college seeking an ADHD evaluation. I was freshly 18 and Dr. Fredrick was quick to tell me what I did not have and when asking me about my experiences within the first 10 minutes of meeting me he stated he didn’t like the way I spoke I was too confident and was very judge mental rather than just listening and then asking questions. It felt like he thought he was better than me but I continued to meet with him another time. The last meeting, I experienced a racial issue when I explained I was mixed but raised in a white household as my father left. From that statement he said “so you’re like Obama half black but really all white” I never returned after that experience. I’m unsure how growing up in a white household would take half of my DNA out of me… you can’t act a color. On top of that the copays he charged would switch. He would try to charge me $50 instead of $25 and when I would ask why he grinned and said okay we’ll do $25…. sketchy and overall did not make sense. He was very judge mental and just did not make you want to open up as he put in his two cents “I don’t like that” rather than proposing a different way he just writes in his notebook and doesn’t help solve the actual problem that he stated was a problem to begin with.
