Amen Clinics

I have been following Dr. Amen on social media for many years now. Almost 8 months ago I decided that I needed to go to one of his clinics. The Irving location is the one that is closest to me. I have had an extremely good experience with everyone that I have interacted with there. The whole process is very organized and smooth. Megan Babler is my patient care coordinator. She helped me understand what to expect throughout the whole process and is available for any questions. It’s nice to have that available. I see Dr. Makwana and he has been really great. He explained all of my findings very well and has been able to help me better than any previous psychiatrist I’ve had. He’s been patient as my physical health and brain health are very intertwined. He’s willing to work with my functional medicine practitioner which is a blessing. Amanda Wilson has been a huge help as well. I see her as Dr. Makwana’s “right hand man”. She’s super helpful with answering questions or getting them relayed to Dr. Makwana in a timely manner. I am grateful for my whole team there. My journey hasn’t been perfect by any means, but they have been a consistent help in getting me through this.

1#. (GENERAL EXPERIENCE) - (Paragraph 1) - My experience at Amen Clinics Dallas saved my life. For 17 years I have misdiagnosed and treated for mental illnesses at different "traditional" psychiatrists that caused me a lot harm. Then, I believe, God led my mother to a book at the public library titled: "The End of Mental Illness" by Daniel G. Amen. My Mom's encounter led me to the Amen Clinics Dallas. For the first time I was under good adequate care. The SPECT Scans, around 400 questions, and history with my mental illness got myself and my parents an exact answer (not just with observations and questioning). 2#. (GENERAL EXPERIENCE CONTINUED) - (Paragraph 2) - What sets an Amen Clinic apart from "traditional" is their use of SPECT Scans to exactly diagnose my mental illness and all their various forms of treatment (not just using medications) to not only stabilize me, but put me on a path of "literally healing my brain." 3#. (DOCTORS) - (Paragraph 3) - At this Amen Clinic they have very smart and good doctors. People with or loved ones with a mental illness are looking for a good Psychiatrist. Usually, when people are looking a good Psychiatrist either two situations usually occur: (1) There are no good psychiatrist in their area or (2) If there is a good psychiatrist in their area, usually their practice is full or the psychiatrist is not excepting new patients. 4#. (DOCTORS CONTINUED) - (Paragraph 4) - At this Amen Clinic in Irving Texas (a Suburb of Dallas) has five psychiatrists at this office that to be very qualified and good. I have been blessed enough to get two good psychiatrists there. My first psychiatrist was very good but he had something come up where he could not see me for awhile. The remarkable thing that came up, I was picked up immediately with another psychiatrist at the clinic that was just as good as the first psychiatrist I had and will be psychiatrist for a short while until my first gets some minor things worked out where he can see me again. 5#. (STAFF) - (Paragraph 5) - I was also wanting to say that they have a "Very Dependable Staff" that will respond to your communications fast usually in the same day or in a couple of days. 6#. (BEST PSYCHIATRIC CLINICS) - (Paragraph 6) - I have been to several psychiatrists over my 17 years (around 5) and these psychiatrists are multiple times better than any the previous psychiatrists I ever had. 7#. (THE WHOLE BRAIN HEATLTH) - (Paragraph 7) - Every psychiatrist I had in the past mainly treated just the symptoms I had and not treating the issue of healing my brain as well using everything that "traditional" psychiatrists had at their exposal but other things like: (1) Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, (2) Diet, (3) Exercise, and (4) Vitamins, Minerals, and other Supplements to treat symptoms and to the healing of my brain.
