Accelerated Psychiatry

I am astounded by the negative comments and would like to share my own experience. As a long term patient at Accelerated Psychiatry, I believe that I can offer a very accurate insight into their practice. Mental illness is very real, debilitating, and tragic. To anyone who is struggling, please know that help and healing is available. For several years the team at Accelerated Psychiatry has given me the best, most excellent, and extremely compassionate care. I am now on the path to full recovery, well on the way to stable mental health, and am actually experiencing real peace and true joy. Before finding them I had been diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder, eventually determined to be Treatment Resistant Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, and Adult ADD. I had been suffering for years in a state of being unable to fully function in my daily life. The symptoms were so severe and overwhelming that they became immobilizing. I was simply existing, not really living, barely trudging through each day, and at high risk for a tragic outcome. When I started, my treatment began with Esketamine, twice weekly. Over time, it was tapered down to weekly and then every two weeks. With this treatment plan I was finally able to see the results and feel relief, being able to carry on with my day to day life without the persistent and overwhelming pain I had become accustomed to. However, several traumatic events occurred during that time, prompting repeated relapses. Dr. Brendan Nacewicz and his team were amazingly kind, supportive, and present in a way that was far beyond what one might expect in a clinical setting. A consummate professional, he suggested that I should consider a combined therapy of TMS and ketamine. This combination is the most powerful and effective treatment available. It has been very successful for me and I am now gaining a different perspective on life, experiencing happiness, hope, and able to see possibilities for the future. I am very, very grateful to Dr. Brendan, nurse Rena, and all of the other staff who have provided care to me. Everyone has been so very kind, supportive, and nurturing in their compassionate, empathetic, and encouraging ways. At Accelerated Psychiatry, the environment is one of tranquil, peaceful serenity, along with a culture that deeply resonates their hearts of nurturing, understanding, warmth, and compassion. In the way everyone reaches forward, embraces, and so kindly extends support to their patients, it is abundantly evident that this medical practice was born out of a profound and sincere desire to help people, by providing a range of the most powerful and effective treatments available, to overcome the sufferings of previously hopeless levels of treatment resistant depression, anxiety, and other disorders. My treatments at Accelerated Psychiatry have been a balm to my psychic health, with the best benefits and results. Now, I am able to function without the constant presence of the immobilizing effects of indescribable levels of anxiety and depression. I now see light at the end of a long dark tunnel. I am beginning to once again experience joy. I am definitely getting better. The brilliant research of Dr. Brendan Nacewicz, PhD Neuroscientist and MD Psychiatrist, offers the real possibility of hope for people with treatment resistant depression, anxiety, and other mental health challenges.

TLDR: I received Spravato treatments here for over a year with success. Spravato was suddenly removed as a treatment option. Communication is lacking. AP and Dr. Brendon Nacewicz lost my trust as a patient. This review does not reflect my experience with Spravato, which has been positive and effective. I was receiving Spravato treatments for over a year at this clinic and had an appointment scheduled when I was abruptly informed that my appointment was switching from Spravato to IM ketamine, and that Spravato (FDA approved, more accessible when it comes to insurance coverage) is no longer a treatment option at AP. I was told, "We are moving away from Spravato and are able to offer IV/IM with insurance coverage - something we had always hoped to be able to do as a clinic." That was never communicated with me when I began treatment. When I asked about insurance coverage of IM Ketamine (which my insurance does not cover), I was told verbally that I wouldn't be balance billed by the clinic for the medicine, but they have nothing in writing to guarantee that. This clinic and Dr. Brendon Nacewicz have lost my trust as a patient and I personally requested discharge from this clinic. Please note that my experience with Spravato has been great and this review is not to reflect that medicine.
